Peter B. "Pete" Strenchock, age 54 of Morea passed away Monday evening after a brief illness.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, he was the son of the late Peter and Josephine (Snarski) Strenchock.  Pete was a 1975 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School.  He served with the United States Army, and attended Ryder Technical Institute and Breedens Welding School.  He served his apprenticeship with Pipefitters Local Union 524 of Scranton where he was employed as a welder and pipefitter.  While in high school, Pete participated in various sports programs and continued to support and assist Mahanoy Area Athletics throughout his life.  First and foremost, Pete enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed fishing and boating, golf, vacationing in Florida, and fireworks.  Survivors include his wife of 33 years the former Marie Forgotch, 2 daughters Janelle Bowman and her husband, Jason of Bear, DE, Kyla Strenchock of Harrisburg, 2 sons Logan, currently studying abroad at The Central European University in Budapest Hungary, and Trevor, a student at Wilkes University; 3 sisters Diane Stine of Pottsville, Josetta Galetz of Gilberton, and Anne Thomas of Florida;  2 grandchildren Brody and Patch Bowman; nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated by Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Saturday, March 3, at 12 Noon in Blessed Teresa Catholic Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pete's name can be made to the Mahanoy D-Tackle Club, c/o 721 W. Market St. Mahanoy City, PA  17948 .  David D.
