Raymond R. Dunsavage Obituary

Mr. Raymond R. "Ray" Dunsavage, age 77, of Locust Valley, died Wednesday afternoon at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wilkes Barre.  Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Dunsavage Sr.  He attended Mahanoy Township schools and was an Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  He worked in the local coal industry and also served as manager of the Quakake American Legion Post. He was a member of St. Richard's Church, the DAV and the Ryan Township Fire Company.  Preceding him in death were a brother Joseph and a sister Theresa Heckman.  Survivors include his wife of 50 years the former Helen Forgotch, a son Raymond and his wife Joestelle of Ringtown, 2 daughters Michelle Yost and her husband Paul Jr. and Sharon Kachmar and her husband John all of Barnesville,  3 brothers Anthony  Dunsavage Jr. and his wife Betty of Tennessee, Peter Dunsavage of Texas and Vincent Dunsavage and his wife Helen of Locust Valley and one sister Florence Koval and her husband Edward of Lansford 7 grandchildren Paul, Alycia, Cherise, Charlene and Nicole Yost, Josh Kachmar and Angelica Dunsavage, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Whalen on Saturday morning at 11 AM in St. Richard's Church in Barnesville.  Interment with military honors will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 AM until time of Mass.  Contributions in Ray's name to St. Richard's Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  David D.
