Rita Bartashus Obituary

Rita Lontz Bartashus of Morea, originally from Lykens, died Tuesday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Harrisburg she was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Fisher) Lontz. She was of the Catholic faith. She graduated from Williamstown Catholic High School and Empire Beauty School. She owned and operated the Sally Rennay Beauty Salon in Pottsville for many years. She loved reading, coloring, crocheting and polkas. Rita will be remembered for her bubbly personality, her kindness and generosity to everyone. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband Joseph Bartashus, her other half Robert Hasara with whom she resided, grandparents, aunts, uncles and her cousin Carolyn Sims. Surviving are her sister and best friend Mary Lontz Siemanski and her husband Bill, her niece Colleen Fetterhoff and her husband Brian, her great nephew Ethan Fetterhoff, her nephew Jeremiah Siemanski and his wife Ashley, her step daughters Chris Wagner, Josie Welsh, Sue Bartashus and Kimberly Tascher, her step grandchildren Kasey, Courtney, Carly, Kelly, Giana, Arianny, Angel, Bryce and Gavin, also sister of Robert, Linda Hall and her husband Robert, brother in law Wally Bartashus and his wife Helen and their children, cousins and her friend since the 5th grade Jane Bennet English. Private graveside service will be held at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown with the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating. Contributions in her name to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.
