Rita T. Bistronish, age 90, of Mahanoy City, died Tuesday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center East in Pottsville.  Born in a a life long resident of Mahanoy City she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Leso) Leshko. She attended Mahanoy City schools and had been employed with Eagle Brothers, also owned and operated her own catering business for a number of years and last worked for the Diocese of Allentown as a housekeeper at parish rectories.
She was a faithful and active member of her parish and its various society's.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband John, 2 sisters Lucy Prossaic and Josephine Mullock and a brother John.  Survivors include 3 daughters Anita Vevasis and her husband Albert of Savannah Georgia, Michele Bistronsih of Alexandria VA, and Donna Marie Pucklavage and her husband Joseph of Tuscarora, a sister Bernadine Leskowsky of Allentown,  4 grandchildren Amy Pucklavage and Anthony, Alexander and Aaron Vevasis and 3 great grandchildren Troy, Lanie and Max Vevasis, nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 10:30 AM in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will be in Assumption BVM Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 9 AM until time of Mass.  Contributions in Rita's name to St. Jerome's Regional School or the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.
