Mr. Robert T. "Bob" Swartz, age 90, of Morea, passed away Tuesday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation in Frackville. Born in Frackville he was the son of the late Charles and Sarah (Kramer) Swartz. He attended Frackville schools and was a United States Air Force veteran. A diesel mechanic, he worked for and retired from Caterpillar in Frackville. A master of his trade his free time was most often spent repairing vehicles for his family, friends and neighbors. At will he could dismantle a vehicles' engine and put if back together seemingly effortlessly. An avid auto racing fan Sunday's were spent watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite drivers Bill & Chase Elliott. He also over the years, often with his wife, son and nephew in tow, attended many, many races at local dirt tracks rooting for the Tobias family of racers. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife the former Theresa Mercuri in July of this year as well as brothers William, Charles, Russell and Wilbur and sisters Sarah Kleckner, Verna Lore, Gertrude Murray and Jean Sokol. Survivors include one son Robert A. "Bob" Swartz and his wife Debbie of Frackville, a granddaughter Kimberly Swartz of Reading, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a religious service to be held on Monday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. The Rev. Fred T. Crawford will officiate. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning beginning at 9:30 AM.
