Ruth E. Bernadyn, age 84, of Mahanoy City, passed away Saturday morning at Shenanhoah Manor.  Born in St. Nicholas she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dora (Bachike) Roberts.  She was a 1945 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School and was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  Ruth was a loving and dedicated wife mother and grandmother and was a friend to all she met. Ruthie was the lady that would wave to you even if 2 blocks away and send a thoughtful card to all for any occasion. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband John L. in 1981 and a son David R. in 1971.   Survivors include 3 daughters Diane Beckett  and her husband James of Morea, Susan Spleen and her husband Jack of Pottsville and Karen Marie Bernardyn of Frackville, 2 sons Gregory of Hazleton and Mark and his wife Stephanie of Gilberton, a brother John and his wife Joan of Bowie, MD and grandchildren Krystal, Stephanie, Jaclyn, Christina, Rachel, Noel, Payton and Kendall and a great granddaughter Ava, nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Kevin Gallagher on Tuesday morning at 11 AM from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church.  Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9 until 10:45 AM. There will not be any calling hours on Monday evening or at the funeral home.  Contributions in Ruth's name to Shenandoah Manor Activities Fund or the ACTION Youth Group of Mahanoy City would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  David D.
