Theresa Gedeika

Theresa Gedeika, age 95, of Mahanoy City, and formerly of Mount Carmel and Kulpmont, died Monday at her home.  Born in Mount Carmel she was the daughter of the late Michael and Martha (Shabus) Gedeika.  She attended school in Kulpmont and worked in the garment industry in Kulpmont and Mount  Carmel.  She was a member of the former Holy Cross Church in Mount Carmel, Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City and the ILGWU.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a sister Margaret Swatsky and a niece Charlotte Green Matz.  Survivors include 1 sister Irene Bashus of Shenandoah, 3 nieces Mary Ann Walker and her husband Clayton, Eugenia Golden and her husband Richard all of Mahanoy City, Geraldine Sadusky of Florida and 1 nephew Allan Bashus of North Carolina, great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Thursday morning at 11 AM in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Mount Carmel.  Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.  Contributions in Theresa's name to the ACTION Youth Group would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.  David D.
