Thomas Robert Irvin passed away peacefully the morning of February 8th, surrounded by his family at 68 years of age.
Tom was born on February 18th, 1954 in Ashland, PA to the late Robert Irvin and Caroline (DeAngelo) Irvin. He graduated from North Schuylkill High School in 1972 and Penn State University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science. He spent the last 33 years as a heavy equipment operator at WMPI in Gilberton. Additionally, he was a lifetime member of the Altamont Fire Company.
Tom loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing. However, possibly, his favorite hobby was chopping wood to heat the family home. He spent a lot of his time cheering on his favorite teams, which included the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers.
Above all else, Tom was a family man who dedicated his life to providing for his wife and children. He is survived by his wife, Lynne (Morgan) Irvin of Gilberton; daughter, Gabrielle, wife of Jonathan Green, of Conshohocken, PA; son Jacob Irvin, Gilberton and a brother Joseph Pulaski, Frackville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Irvin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the David D. Jarrett funeral home, Mahanoy City. Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00.
