Mr. William D. "Bill" Cunningham, age 78, of Barnesville, died unexpectedly Thursday shortly after arrival at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale.  Born in and a life long resident of Barnesville, he was the son of the late William J. and Margaret (Stein) Cunningham.  He was a 1953 graduate of Mahanoy Township High School  and served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Locust Valley, F.A&M. #357 of Mahanoy City and the Scottish Rite.  He had been employed with Mack Trucks for 27 years and was also a partner in The Body Man Auto Repair Shop in Mahanoy City. Preceding him in death in addition to her parents was his wife Shirley in 2010.  Surviving are 2 daughters, Jodi wife of John Dubuc and Amy wife of Paul Schmerfeld of Barnesville, 5 grandchildren  Jed Dubuc and Jessica, Amy Lynn, Marcus and Kayla Schmerfeld and nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Monday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with the Rev. Janet L. Kline officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Locust Valley.  Friends may at at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM and again on Monday morning from 10 AM until Time of services.  Masonic services will be Sunday evening at 7 PM.
