Mr. William R. "Bill" McLaren, age 90, of Frackville, died FEB 4, 2017 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA.  Born in Mahanoy City he was the son of the late John "Reese" & Ruth (Major) McLaren.  He was a 1944 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and was an Army veteran serving during World War II.  He was the owner and operator of McLaren Auto Supply in Frackville and subsequently in Mahanoy City.  He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Mahanoy City, BPOE 1533 , Friendship Fire Company both of Frackville, American Legion Post 74 of Mahanoy City, and was a faithful and active member of the Frackville Community Ambulance for many many years serving as trustee at the time of his passing.  He was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Frackville and served on the Frackville community Christmas decoration lighting  committee.  He enjoyed and was an avid bowler.  Preceding him in death were his wife Verna in 2012 and a sister Ruth McLaren Hinkle in 1963.  Survivors include nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews including his nephew and caregiver Robert Hinkle of Harrisonburg VA and his wife the former Cheryl Eiche Hinkle who passed recently.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Rite of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Fred T. Crawford on Sunday March 5 , 2017 at 1 PM from Christ Lutheran Church in Mahanoy City.  Friends may call at the church prior to services beginning at 11:30 AM.  Contributions in Bill's name to the Frackville Community Ambulance, PO Box 15, Frackville, PA 17931 or Christ Lutheran Church PO Box 4, Mahanoy City PA  17948 would be appreciated by the family.  Interment service with military honors will be at 1 PM Monday March 6, 2017 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.  David D.
