William Wasser Obituary

William John "Bill The Mailman" Wasser, age 65, of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully Tuesday at his home. William was born in Pottsville son of the late William A. & Martha (Keitsock) Wasser. He worked for 20 years at Exxon Chemical and was with the US Postal Service for 20 years until his retirement in 2019. He was a member of and a basketball official with the PIAA for 41 years, a social member of American Legion Post 74, Citizens Fire Company # 2 where he was an avid dart shooter with an average score of zero, and the VFW until it closing all of Mahanoy City. He was an avid dirt track race fan since 1972.

William is survived by his wife Delilah Bradford-Wasser, brothers Gary and his wife Gladys of Mountain Top and Kevin and his companion Brenda Stephens of Minersville, 3 daughters Sheila and Shelley Wasser of Florida, Agnes Jessman and her fiance' Gerard Schlegel , a step son Greg Humpf and his wife Sage, 1 grandson Greyson Humpf, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends and his fur baby Zephyr Belle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing to be held Saturday from 10 AM until 1 PM at David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. There will be no formal service however any and all are invited to share their fondest memory of the infamous mailman of Mahanoy City beginning at 12:30 PM. Do not hesitate to wear your favorite racing hat or shirt to the visitation. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to the Mahanoy City United Veterans Memorial Day Parade Committee of which Bill was proud to be a member.
