Dolly L. Russell, age 67, formerly of Minersville, died Tuesday morning at Rest Haven. Born in Pottsville she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Sherriff) Russell. She was a 1963 graduate of Pottsville High School and worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, was of the Lutheran faith and very active in various church activities. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Gregory L. Schwartz and a brother Arthur. Survivors include 2 daughters Gretchen Deffley and her husband Philip of Mahanoy City, Sally Butcavage and her husband Robert Jr. of Orwigsburg, a son Jacob Schwartz of Allentown, 3 brothers Robert and his wife Cathy of Illinois, John of Pottsville and Harry of Cumbola, 2 sisters Doris Fessler and her husband Eric of Auburn and Alice Kramer of Pottsville, 3 grandchildren Kyle Schappe, Rebecca Salen and Kayla Schwartz, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City with the Rev. Christopher Wollyung officiating. Interment will be at Mount Peace Cemetery in Minersville. Friends may call and visit with the family on Saturday morning from 10 AM until time of service.
